Capability 06

E-commerce and Digital Operations

Commercial and operational systems designed by people who have carried responsibility for stock, staff, customers, cash flow and growth.

  • Better connection between trading and operations
  • Lower error and manual workload
  • More useful stock and purchasing decisions
  • Systems designed around margin and cash flow

Experience from inside the operation

Our e-commerce perspective was developed while building and operating a seven-site business with eleven staff and approximately £2 million annual turnover. The systems had to support purchasing, stock, warehouse fulfilment, customer service, pricing, marketing and cash flow as one connected operation.

What the work can include

  • commerce platform and integration architecture;
  • inventory, purchasing and supplier workflows;
  • warehouse picking, packing and returns;
  • CRM and customer-service tooling;
  • pricing, forecasting and decision support;
  • paid-search data and commercial reporting;
  • operational automation;
  • margin, cash-flow and stock-risk analysis.

Our approach

We look beyond the storefront. A conversion improvement that creates unmanageable fulfilment work, poor stock exposure or weak margin is not a complete success. Digital operations should connect the customer promise to the systems and people responsible for fulfilling it.

Tell us what is becoming difficult.

You do not need to arrive with a technical specification. A description of the organisation, the problem and what is currently preventing progress is enough to begin.
