Signal North Ltd respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we receive through this website, why we use it and the choices you have.
Who is responsible for your information
Signal North Ltd is the controller of personal information submitted through this website. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 16569545. Our registered office is 31 Swans Reach, Falmouth, England, TR11 5GG.
You can contact us about privacy through the [contact form](/contact/) or by writing to our registered office.
Information you give us
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. You may also choose to provide your organisation and telephone number. Please include only the information needed for us to understand and respond to your enquiry.
You do not have to use the form or provide optional information. If you do not provide a name, email address and message, we will not be able to respond through the form.
Information received when you visit
The services that deliver and protect this website may process routine technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse.
The site currently loads the Saira typeface from Google Fonts. This causes your browser to connect to Google and disclose routine request information, which may include your IP address, browser details and the page making the request. Google explains its handling of personal information in its [privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
We do not use advertising pixels, behavioural tracking or analytics on this site.
Why we use your information
We use information from an enquiry to:
- read and respond to your message;
- understand whether and how Signal North may be able to help;
- arrange and record any agreed next steps; and
- protect the form and our systems from spam, misuse and security threats.
Where you ask us to consider or take steps towards providing services, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We also rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with prospective clients, keeping an appropriate record of business correspondence, operating a reliable website and protecting our systems. We balance those interests against your rights and the limited nature of the information involved.
We do not add contact-form details to a marketing list or use them for unrelated marketing.
Who receives your information
Access is limited to Signal North and service providers needed to host and secure the website or deliver an enquiry. Those providers may process information only to provide their services to us, subject to their contractual and legal obligations.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an applicable adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards. You can ask us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep it
We normally keep an enquiry and related correspondence for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. We may keep it longer if it develops into a client relationship, if a legal or regulatory obligation applies, or if it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Contact-service access records are normally kept for 30 days. Other routine website security records are kept only for the period needed to operate, diagnose and protect the service. A record connected with a security incident may be retained for longer while the incident is investigated or legal obligations are addressed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete or restrict the use of your information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
- receive information you supplied in a portable format where the legal conditions apply.
**You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.** Contact us using the details above and explain your concern. These rights are not absolute, but we will explain our decision if a legal exception applies.
We do not use information collected through this website for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us first if you have a question or concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Its contact details and guidance are available at [ico.org.uk](https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/).

We will update this notice before introducing a materially different use of personal information. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
